What the price includes
When you compare quotes, check that each one includes the same things. A low headline price often leaves out the final bridge.
- Consultation and 3D CBCT scan
- Extractions of remaining teeth
- Four implants and abutments, with the brand named
- A temporary bridge fitted the same day or within days
- The final bridge after 3–6 months of healing
- Follow-up checks and adjustments
Does insurance cover All-on-4?
Most dental plans treat implants as major work and cap total benefits for the year, typically at $1,000–2,000 (Delta Dental). In practice insurance covers a small part of an All-on-4 bill. Medicare does not cover dental implants, though some Medicare Advantage plans include limited dental benefits.
Ways to pay less
Dental schools
University dental clinics charge less, but waiting lists can be long and treatment takes more visits.
Financing
Most implant centers offer payment plans. They spread the cost but don't reduce it, and interest can add thousands.
Treatment abroad
Mexico, Turkey and China all offer All-on-4 for much less than typical US prices. The trade-offs are travel, two trips for most patients, and choosing a clinic you can trust.

All-on-4 in China
In China, most All-on-4 cases are done at university dental hospitals rather than private chains. These are public teaching hospitals graded 3A, China's top tier, with implant departments that place thousands of implants a year. Since 2023, national bulk purchasing has lowered the price of implant systems at public hospitals.
A typical plan looks like this:
- Trip 1, about 6 days: exam and CBCT scan, extractions, four implants placed, temporary bridge fitted.
- Healing, 3–6 months at home: the implants fuse with the bone.
- Trip 2, about 4 days: the final zirconia bridge is fitted and adjusted.
"Most patients are surprised by how fast the hospital moves. Your scan, consultation and plan usually happen on the first morning, and surgery is often two days later. The part people find hardest is the first evening with a temporary bridge, so we book a hotel within walking distance of the hospital and I check in that night."

Risks and how to reduce them
- Implant failure. It's uncommon but possible anywhere. Ask which brand is used and what the hospital's warranty covers, in writing.
- Communication. Misunderstanding the plan is the most common problem abroad. Have an interpreter in every appointment.
- Aftercare at home. Get your records and implant details in English, so a local dentist can help if needed.
FAQ
How long does All-on-4 last?
With good care, implants often last 20 years or more. The final bridge may need repair or replacement after 10–15 years, depending on the material.
Can All-on-4 be done in one trip?
Sometimes the final bridge can be made within a longer single stay, but most hospitals prefer the implants to heal first. The dentist decides after your scan.
Is All-on-4 cheaper than dentures?
No. Traditional dentures cost much less, but they're removable and can slip. All-on-4 is fixed and feels closer to natural teeth.
What implant brands do Chinese hospitals use?
University hospitals use international brands such as Straumann, Nobel Biocare and Osstem, as well as domestic brands. Your written quote names the brand.
